1. "Adelaida Mateescu" Research Laboratory of Signal Processing - under the aegis of Romanian Academy of Technical Sciences.


Adelaida Mateescu research laboratory

The lab has several powerful workstations, with Matlab/Simulink licensed software. This is exclusively for PhD students and researchers, as well as students preparing their graduation thesis. Research is being done in the fields of Adaptive signal processing, Coding, Compression, Data transmission, Time-frequency representations, Wavelets theory and applications, Nonlinear signal processing, Neural networks, Digital watermarking.
In loving memory of Acad. Professor Adelaida Mateescu (1932-2009), the research lab of Signal Processing bears her name, under the aegis of Romanian Academy of Technical Sciences.

2. Laboratory of Signals and Systems (room B214)


The laboratory is composed of several workstations, with Matlab/Simulink licensed software, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, signal generators. Students preparing their graduation thesis design and implement circuits for the use of the lab. Practical laboratory is carried out for the courses Signals and Systems and Signal Processing.
The research activities involved in the laboratory are related to Adaptive signal processing, Time-frequency representations, Wavelets theory and applications, Nonlinear signal processing , Digital watermarking.

3. Laboratory of Information Theory and Coding (room B219)


The laboratory is composed of several workstations, with Matlab/Simulink licensed software, a video projector, a laptop, a server, a projection screen. Practical laboratory and seminar activities are carried out for the courses of Information Theory and Coding, Detection and estimation theory in telecommunications, Modeling and Simulation, Advanced Topics in Communications, Statistical Signal Processing, Network Optimization.
The research activities of the lab are related to Coding, Turbo-codes, Compression.

4. Laboratory of Data Communications (room B712)

The laboratory is composed of several workstations, with Matlab/Simulink licensed software, a video projector, a laptop, and a projection screen. Practical laboratory and seminar activities are carried out for the courses of, Computer networks architecture, Data Communications and Network Security.
The research activities of the lab are mainly related to Data Transmission.
